Concussion Rehabilitation

Concussions (also known as a mild traumatic brain injury) are an injury to the brain which can occur due to a direct or indirect blow to the head. Concussions usually self-resolve within 1-2 weeks, however, in some cases, individuals can experience persistent symptoms that linger for a longer period. Symptoms can include headaches, dizziness, vision or balance issues, or feeling “out of it” or not like yourself. Physiotherapy for concussion can include education regarding the best management of the concussion, vision/balance/neurological assessment and treatment, manual therapy and graded re-introduction of physical activity.
