Deanne Taillieu
Physiotherapist
Deanne is a second-year student in the Master of Physical Therapy program at UBC. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, she relocated to British Columbia to complete her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria. During her undergraduate studies, Deanne assisted individuals of diverse abilities in achieving their goals by serving as a student strength and conditioning (S&C) coach for the UVic varsity rugby and soccer teams and volunteering at an adapted gym for those living with neurological conditions.
Driven by her passion for high-performance sport, Deanne went on to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist while completing a six-month internship at the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific in Whistler. Deanne learned from renowned S&C coaches and provided support to Olympic and Paralympic snowboard and ski athletes, helping to enhance their physical performance and facilitate their return to sport after injury.
Most recently, she completed her first-year placement with a neurological focus at G.F. Strong. Deanne is excited to draw on her background and previous experience to help individuals of all ages and abilities achieve their movement goals and get back to doing what they love. In her free time, you can find Deanne mountain biking, running, hiking, and snowboarding.

Lauren McGrath
Physiotherapist
Lauren is a passionate UBC Physical Therapy student, currently in her second year of studies. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at UBC, where her interest in human movement and rehabilitation blossomed. After graduation, she worked as a Kinesiologist at a private clinic, guiding client rehabilitation of various conditions and of all age groups.
In addition, she has volunteered at clinics specializing in neurological conditions to deepen her understanding of client challenges and rehabilitation protocols. When she’s not in the clinic, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether it’s hiking or running, she finds joy in staying active and embracing nature. With a commitment to improving her clients’ well-being, she’s excited to continue her journey in physical therapy and make a positive impact in their lives.

Jennifer Erickson
Physiotherapist
Jennifer is currently pursuing her Master of Physical Therapy degree at UBC, where she is expanding her knowledge and skills in physiotherapy with a focus on holistic patient care. She has previous experience with hands-on care at the UVic Sport Injury Clinic, working closely with varsity athletes and developing a solid foundation in sports rehabilitation.
In addition, Jennifer served as a varsity strength and conditioning coach, designing individualized training programs to enhance athletic performance and minimize injury risk. Jennifer has always had a passion for health and fitness which lead her to pursue undergraduate studies at the University of Victoria, where she earned degrees in both Biology and Kinesiology. As a dedicated member of the UVic cross country and track team, she competed at a high level during her undergrad, which fostered her interest in sports medicine and injury prevention.
Beyond athletics, Jennifer is committed to helping others achieve their health goals. She has volunteered at Neuromotion and MOVE Adapted Fitness, where she worked with individuals with neurological conditions and disabilities, gaining valuable insights into the diverse applications of physiotherapy and the importance of compassionate care.
Jennifer continues to balance her love for running with her academic pursuits by competing for the UBC cross country and track team. Her dedication to both her studies and athletics demonstrates her commitment to lifelong learning and her passion for empowering others through movement and rehabilitation.

Seerat Khurana
Physiotherapist
Seerat completed her bachelor’s in kinesiology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and is currently advancing her studies in UBC’s physiotherapy program. Driven by her passion for movement and rehabilitation, she advocates for accessible fitness and inclusive activity. This inspired her to establish a tandem bike club for people with varying abilities.
Seerat believes that active listening and compassion are cornerstones of client-centered care, helping her connect with clients in a way that fosters safety and trust. She sees each client as a vital partner in their own care, recognizing that exercise goals are best achieved when clients feel genuinely heard and engaged in their journey.
Outside of class, Seerat is an adventurer at heart. She enjoys hiking trails, focusing on strength and conditioning, and walking her dog. She also enjoys tutoring human anatomy, making complex concepts accessible and engaging for her students.
