Jefferson Erome

Physiotherapist

Jefferson is a second-year Physiotherapy student here at UBC. Before the Master’s program, Jefferson completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology – also at UBC – where his heart for health and rehabilitation grew.

In addition to his involvement with student advocacy and community engagement, Jefferson has obtained his Orthopaedic Division Level 1 certification. He finds joy in outreach and the pursuit of life-long learning for the purpose of empowering others. During his free time, Jefferson enjoys playing soccer and basketball among other sports, strength training, spending time outdoors, and reading fiction. He hopes to bring people closer to doing the things they enjoy too.

Madeline Woo

Physiotherapist

Madeline is a second-year physical therapy student at the University of British Columbia. Prior to this, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan.

During her undergraduate degree, Madeline was a student trainer for the USask Track and Field team, where she gained hands-on experience working with a variety of injuries. This role ignited her passion for physiotherapy as she developed a deep commitment to helping individuals through their rehabilitation journeys. In her previous physiotherapy placements, Madeline gained extensive experience working with a diverse range of patient populations.

She provided care for acute and outpatient joint replacement patients, managed outpatient neurological conditions, conducted community home visits, and facilitated cardiopulmonary exercise classes. Madeline prioritizes involving her clients in their care and building meaningful connections. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, staying active outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and cooking new recipes.

Alexia Lee

Physiotherapist

Alexia is a student physiotherapist completing her final placement in the UBC MPT program. Before this, she graduated from UBC with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. During her undergraduate years, she worked as a gymnastics coach and competed on the UBC cheerleading team. Alexia believes that movement and exercise profoundly impact both physical and mental well-being.

She is committed to collaborating with clients to optimize their function and empower them to regain control of their health and mobility. As a student physiotherapist, Alexia has gained experience in various clinical settings, working with populations with neurological, musculoskeletal and vestibular conditions. She has proactively taken courses outside the UBC curriculum and is certified in treating running injuries.

Outside of the clinic, Alexia enjoys various activities that keep her happy, healthy and active. You can find her running, playing ultimate frisbee, lifting weights or grabbing a sweet treat at a cafe. She looks forward to working with people of all ages and abilities and hopes to establish meaningful connections to help others achieve their movement goals.

Aaron Olmstead

Physiotherapist

Aaron is a student physiotherapist from UBC. Before starting on his Physical Therapy degree, Aaron completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Brock University. During his undergraduate program, Aaron gained experience working with various Musculoskeletal conditions, as well as some neurological conditions through a practical skills and exercise programming course.

Aaron has also had various experiences though his current Physical Therapy program at UBC, and has gained experience in both private and public practice settings working with a wide variety of clinical populations. Aaron is a motivated athlete and has spent many years competing in Sabre Fencing at both a national and international level. As well as having tried out a variety of other sporting endeavors as leisure activities, such as ultimate frisbee, bouldering, Hiking, Snowboarding, and Running.

Throughout his time as a competitive fencer, Aaron also had the opportunity to work as a assistant coach for youth and adult programs. Over his athletic career, he has experienced and witnessed a variety of injuries and has seen the importance of  Physical Therapy in both athletic and non-athletic populations. In the future as a Licensed Physiotherapist, Aaron hopes to share the knowledge and experiences he has gained to empower his clients and work along side them to help them face and overcome their challenges and injuries.
