Our new student placements have just begun! Learn more about our student physiotherapists below:

Elody Michelet
Physiotherapist
Elody is in her last year of the Master’s of Physical Therapy Program at UBC. Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she completed her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology – Exercise and Sports Science at the U of S. During her undergraduate studies, Elody was a varsity trainer for the U of S Men’s Volleyball Team for 2 years, gaining experience in sideline coverage and acute injury management as well as longer rehabilitation for various sports injuries.
In addition to this, she volunteered with local programs supporting individuals living with brain injuries and taught swimming to all ages for 6 years. Most recently, she completed a placement in Prince Rupert with a student led model similar to the PTRC and absolutely loved it! Elody is passionate about being a practitioner who empowers people to achieve movement goals they have and getting back to the activities they love most.
Personally, she loves hiking, running, strength training, canoeing and anything that can get her enjoying the outdoors!

Bade Olugunde
Physiotherapist
Bade is a Master of Physical Therapy student at UBC, currently completing his final placement. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from UBC in 2023. His curiosity for physiotherapy began in middle school when he was first introduced to the profession as a young athlete managing knee pain. Since then, his passion has grown through diverse clinical and hospital experiences, working with people of all ages and abilities.
Bade grew up in Fort McMurray, Alberta, and is always on the move, particularly through competitive soccer. Beyond playing, he enjoys watching the game and sharing his love for it through coaching. Outside of the clinic, you can find him exploring new ways to move, playing the drums, joining friends on outdoor adventures, winning a heated game of cards, or eating a homemade comfort meal for the fifth time in a week.
As a student physiotherapist, Bade is excited to share his love of movement with you and work collaboratively with clients to help them reach their goals. He values curiosity, connection, and continuous learning, viewing rehabilitation as a two-way process, supporting and empowering clients to take an active role in their recovery.

Sophie Provenzano
Physiotherapist
Sophie is a second-year Master of Physiotherapy student at UBC, currently on her final placement of the MPT program. She previously completed an honours degree in science, also at UBC, participating in type I diabetes research for 2 years along the way. Her previous placements have given her experience working with people aged 3 to 103. She has experience treating various conditions, including overuse injuries, post-surgical recovery, neurological conditions, and return to sport following pregnancy.
In her free time, Sophie enjoys crocheting and board game nights, but she especially loves getting outside – whether it be running, backpacking, swimming or climbing. She also teaches beginner and intermediate rock climbing. This has helped her develop skills to break down movements and exercises that meet individuals where they are at, in a way that clicks.
Sophie is motivated to help people identify goals to work towards and loves helping them gain confidence through deepening their understanding of their injuries and what they can do to address them. Having grown up in Japan, Sophie is fluent in Japanese if any clients prefer to communicate in that language.

Nicole Zilberman
Physiotherapist
Nicole is completing her last year as a Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) student. She completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Kinesiology at UBC as well. Prior to pursuing her MPT, she was very involved on campus, working with Intramurals, Varsity Athletics, and the BC Brain Wellness Centre. Getting to work with a variety of populations sparked her passion for physiotherapy, and she holds a strong interest in helping people move with confidence and return to the activities they love.
As a former rhythmic gymnast, Nicole underwent a lot of physiotherapy herself and understands the challenges that can come with recovery and rehabilitation. She has worked with diverse populations across a variety of clinical settings and enjoys connecting with clients of all ages. Outside of the clinic, Nicole enjoys running, reading, and cooking (though ideally not all at once)!
