Our new student placements have just begun! Learn more about our student physiotherapists below:

Sophie Morgan
Physiotherapist
Sophie is a second year Master of Physical Therapy student at UBC with a background in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. During her undergraduate degree, she participated in pain research and developed a deeper understanding of how the body and mind work together during rehabilitation. Sophie uses this knowledge to guide her holistic approach to care and enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Sophie grew up playing basketball, hiking, and running and has sustained one or two injuries herself. Her experience as a patient is what ultimately sparked her desire to become a physical therapist. She values connecting with the people she works with and is passionate about helping them trust their bodies and gain the tools necessary to take on their recovery. She is excited to come alongside you through your rehabilitation journey and get you back to the activities you love.

Igor Strbac
Physiotherapist
Igor is a 2nd year Master of Physical Therapy student at UBC. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Neuromechanical and Physiological Sciences from UBC in 2024. Having a desire to make a positive impact, Igor is passionate about rehabilitation and helping others. He hopes to empower individuals and support their well-being throughout their recovery. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time reading, playing soccer, making coffee and weightlifting.

Spencer Pratt
Physiotherapist
Spencer is a second-year Master of Physical Therapy student at UBC. His journey into rehab began through sport, shaped by a long career in the 400m hurdles, competing at the national and university level. Along the way, working with some of Canada’s top sports physiotherapists as a patient himself, Spencer discovered a deep appreciation for holistic, patient-centred care. Learning that great physios treat the person, not just the injury.
This approach to care extends to his personal life, where Spencer helps support his father with Parkinson’s Disease at home. A role that continues to inform his understanding of aging, neurodegeneration, and the importance of early physio intervention. Born and raised in North Vancouver, you’ll find Spencer practicing handstands at the park or writing adventure stories at his favourite coffee spot. Spencer is looking forward to working with you at the PTRC.

Alex Piller
Physiotherapist
Alex was raised in Victoria, BC and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria in 2012. She worked as a practicing kinesiologist for over 10 years before pursuing her Master in Physical Therapy at UBC. She was drawn to the profession by her interest in exercise and movement for enhancing quality of life, as well as her fondness for working with people and building relationships.
As a practitioner, her goal is to help clients gain the tools and skills they need to improve their condition and empower them to reach their goals. Alex grew up playing a variety of sports, including diving, horseback riding, volleyball and Olympic weightlifting.
She learnt from a young age that she felt better both physically and mentally when she stayed active, and it was this realization that motivated her to study the human body and movement science. These days, you’ll most often see her lifting weights in the gym or spending time with her growing family.
